I am almost 20 years old and I’m currently somewhere around a D cup. I am 5’7 and 220 pounds. I lost quite a bit of weight before (was down to about 165 last summer) but even then my cup size didn’t go down any. I constantly have back pain at work and hate shopping for bras, swimsuits, and shirts because of my chest. I know I’d probably need to lose weight 1st but would I likely be eligible?
It’s always best to get down to your goal weight before undergoing a breast reduction. However if you are unable to do so, you still can undergo a breast reduction. You would have to be seen in person to be properly evaluated. Good luck
Thank you for sharing your question and I am sorry to hear of your breast-related symptoms. Best to be seen by a series of plastic surgeons in consultation to discuss your candidacy for surgery. In order to achieve the most long-lasting and stable results, it would be best to reach your desired goal weight prior to pursuing any surgery. Hope this helps.
The beast candidate for breast reduction has fully developed breasts. Your weight should be stable. If you plan on losing weight it is better to do so before surgery. Your BMI is 35 (based on your height and weight) it is considered best practice to operate on a patient that has a BMI of less than 30. A weight of 190 or less would be a BMI of less than 30. You asked about being eligible, if you are referring to insurance coverage, that will depend on your insurance company. Good luck.
