I wanted to know the round about cost for a breast reduction on one Breast. Does the size of the breast matter ?
The cost depends often on how long the procedure will take. Is your breast size just a little different so that perhaps just liposuction would correct the asymmetry? Or is the larger breast also very droopy and both skin and breast tissue will need to be removed? What is your age? Have you had children yet? Do you want to try and have your health insurance cover the cost? These are all issues that play into what might be recommended.
A standard one-sided breast reduction in my practice in California would run about $4000, although price varies throughout the country. You should consult with a board certified plastic surgeon in your area. Consult the Find-a-Surgeon tool to find qualified ASPS member surgeons near you.
It really depends upon who you go to and what you need to have done. Best of luck.
Hello Debra, it is common for us to see patients who need a breast reduction on one side to correct asymmetry. There is no standard cost, you should make an appointment with an ASPS plastic surgeon in your area and they can provide you with that information. In our area (Washington DC) it would be about $3500.00. The size of the breast doesn't dictate the fee, although larger breasts may take longer to do and may increase the cost that way. Good luck to you.
Thank you for sharing your excellent question. In most cases the size of the breast does not matter in so far that costs are typically based on the amount of time the procedure is anticipated to take. Hope this helps.
Costs will vary based on the city and doctor experience. Call a few offices in your desired area to get a better idea. The size of the breast only matters in terms that, if done as a self pay operation, a larger breast will take more time in the operating room. This means more associated costs for time for anesthesia and using the facility so it might result in higher overall fees.
yes ,it matter because it takes longer to repair and the cost bigger
here in menterrey, mexico it will be the cost in 3,000 dollars every thing
We generally consider it inappropriate to discuss fees prior to a consultation. It tends to lead to misunderstandings. Fees vary from region to region and from surgeon to surgeon and are in theory, in proportion to the complexity of the case or the amount of time that it would take. It is possible for some patients to have breast reduction surgery covered by insurance, which, of course, is a function of the policies contained within your specific plan. You describe asymmetric enlargement, which might be a deformity that could be covered. The best way to get an accurate answer to your question is to schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon. Best wishes
The actual cost of the procedure varies with the location you have it done. Additionally, some insurance companies will not cover the procedures, and others will set weights that must be removed to be eligible for coverage. So, the size does matter. Also, some breasts will possibly only need a lift. I recommend speaking with a plastic surgeon.
Best to find a participating provider and when your deductible is met or its much less out of pocket if you do this cosmetically. A reduction done cosmetically runs around $6000 for OR, anesthesia, and surgeon fees. Pathology will add $250 more. Reductions, if you haven't met your deductible, could easily exceed $10K and if you're out of network, the difference you are charged can easily exceed $6000. So be careful of the details because the least cost procedure may not involve insurance at all.
