Inverted nipples

What is the best procedure for inverted nipples. I had a procedure where he cut around the nipple in a star design (not sure of name) but he didn’t cut all the way around. Went back for a revision but still did not cut all the way around. I have tips but when I raise my arms, they sink in. What is best procedure? I was wondering about cerclage.

Procedure: Breast Augmentation
Location: Buffalo, TX

The cause of most inverted nipples is a relatively short milk duct. The short milk duct tethers the nipples to the underlying tissue causing inversion. The most effective treatments release the tethering by cutting the milk duct. As you might imagine, cutting the milk duct impairs breast feeding. So for women who have not raised a family and wish to breast feed their children, procedures that involve cutting of the milk duct would not be recommended. There are other procedures that can help, but, as you describe, might be less than 100% effective. Best wishes.

Thank you for sharing your excellent question. In most cases inverted nipples can be corrected with an in-office procedure that involves cutting or lengthening a woman’s milk ducts. Hope this helps
