Hello. I was considering getting a breast lift because I feel so insecure about them, but I’m 18 years old and there’s a lot of talk about how it’s not safe to go through the surgery at a young age. So my question is if it’s safe to get a breast lift at the age of 18?
generally because you rage I do not recommend this operation for you but depend on the severity of you problem and accept post op complication such as scar and feeding situation
It all depends upon your anatomy and the severity of your issues whether or not a breast procedure is appropriate for you. A healthy person can have safe breast surgery. Your breasts might still be developing and changing at age 18. Waiting a year or two might be preferable. If you are asking for a lift, you might be bothered by excessive sagging or excessively large and sagging breasts. All said, the only way to learn the risks, expectations and outcomes possible in your particular case is through a face to face consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon. Best wishes.

If your insecurity is from enlarged, sagging breasts then a breast reduction may be an excellent option, if only a lift is required this could be done assuming you have completed your breast development. There is no question that a breast lift would be safe in a healthy 18-year-old. The question is if it would be appropriate. At your age, we can perform breast reductions (which include a lift) in patients with large breasts that are causing symptoms like back pain, neck pain, shoulder grooving or rashes. Whether you are a candidate would depend on a full evaluation.

if you feel that you need a breast lift at age eighteen and you have not had any children, you most likely have “tuberous” breasts. This is not uncommon. The characteristics of a tuberous breast are
1) high inframsmmary crease so your breast sits up high on your chest wall and it’s impossible for it not to be droopy
2) tight lower pole so your breast has never been teardrop shaped—always sock shaped instead
3) breast tissue herniated into the nipple areolar complex and makes the nipples look disproportionately large
If you have tuberous breasts, that would be an indication to do a lift as young as age eighteen, as long as you understand possible risks of loss of nipple sensitivity land ability to breastfeed as a result of the procedure. Going through surgery at a young age is as safe if not safer than at any age, as long as you have a board-certified plastic surgeon and anesthesiologist at an accredited facility.
In my practice I do a lot of breast reductions and lifts on youngsters, but no doubt that surgeon and patient should be very cautious to be successful. Anatomical deformities are prudently appraised and the certainty of the need of future retouchs are honestly emphasized.

You will be required to complete pre-operative clearance and testing (blood and urine) prior to surgery to ensure that medically there are no issues.
