Hi, I’m a 27 year old female. I weigh usually around 115 pounds. I try to eat right and have been exercising regularly for 6 months now. I have never been happy with my tummy “pouch” and can’t seem to get it to shrink. Lately I’ve been debating coolsculpting but am seeing so so reviews and am looking for a professional opinion
There are many options with lipo or cool sculpting. If you tummy area is small, cool sculpting should work very well for you. Make certain you seek a Board Certified Plastic and Reconstructive surgeon in your search for a doctor.
Coolsculpting or other non-surgical methods of fat reduction are useful for people who do not wish to have liposcution. Liposuction with an experinced plastic surgeon, in my opinion, is far surperior as we are able to remove fat and get you the contour you wish more rapidly tha non-surgical methods that freeze fat. If the pooch is due to abdominal muscle laxity rather than fat, non-invasive abdominal muscle building with the EMSCULPT device might be appropriate. Consult with a board certified ASPS member plastic surgeon to find out what the best options for you might be. Best wishes.
Thank you for sharing your excellent question. Unfortunately loose skin can not be exercised, nor dieted, away. Despite your best efforts the best treatment is likely a tummy tuck to rid yourself of the loose skin, but this does depend on an in-person examination of your tissues. Coolsculpting and other options at reducing fat will only worsen the current appearance. Hope this helps.
Hello, that area can be so stubborn after having kids! You are doing everything right by optimizing diet and exercise. There are many ways we can treat stubborn areas of fat these days, coolsculpting and liposuction being 2 of the most popular. However, you should consult with a plastic surgeon to determine whether you will have good results after nonsurgical fat reduction or whether you would be better served with something more aggressive. At your consultation, the surgeon will evaluate your muscles for separation, your skin quality, and whether you have extra skin or just fat. He/she will then make the best recommendation for you.
Sounds like you have some fat that won't go away with diet and exercise. That is the reason liposuction was invented. There are non-surgical methods, including Coolsculpting, that may work for you. The only way to find out if one of these works is to try it. On the other hand, if you have a fat deposit, liposuction will remove it. Your best option is to see a surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. I would be happy to see you in consultation, if you wish.
Best advice is to obtain a face to face consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon. They can examine you, then discuss both non surgical options such as Coolsculpting versus liposuction.
Thanks for your question. Without pictures and examining you it is impossible to tell if you would be a candidate for coolsculpting. Coolsculpting is a non invasive fat removal device where fat cells get destroyed by the body over several weeks after treatment. You may need additional treatments to achieve your goals. Another option may be liposuction which can get rid of unwanted fat.
Please consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to determine which procedures are best to achieve your goals.
Best wishes!
The tummy “pouch” women refer to is a collection of fat from the belly button down to pubic area. Skin does NOT need to be excised. Muscle does NOT need to be tightened. A tummy tuck will give you a two foot long scar, dog ears and regret that will last a lifetime. Best way to treat this is with tumescent liposuction. But for true beauty I would not just lipo the pouch, I would lipo the entire torso including entire abdomen, flanks, spare tire, love handles, wings, bra rolls. This is called being “snatched” and you will have spectacular beauty. Coolsculpting is ridiculous. Good Luck. Just say NO to tummy tucks.
