Waxing after surgery

How long would you normally wait to do a Brazilian wax after a FDL cut tummy tuck? I don’t want to interfere with the incision line.

Procedure: Tummy Tuck
Location: Houston, TX

Please address this question with your surgeon. They will be most knowledageable about your healing in the post-operative period. Best,

Thanks for your question. This is generally left up to when your surgeon clears you. My criteria is that I don’t allow for anything like this until all the incisions are completely healed and my patient is released to full activity; this happens around 6 weeks. However if any open wounds are present, a procedure like waxing should not be Done with open wounds.

Please consult with your operating surgeon for their instructions

Best wishes!

Thank you for sharing your excellent question. This will vary by surgeon but I would advocate waiting at least 6 weeks before pursuing a wax. Hope this helps.

You should contact your surgeon and discuss how you are healing before waxing. Best of luck to you.
