Breast Reconstruction after double mastectomy

I am 6 months out from exchange surgery, expanders to 800 cc implants. One breast is becoming painful again and seems to be larger than the other. This breast also has a dimple/ indentation which has been there for about 2-3 months now. I am worried something could be wrong but not sure if this is just still part of the healing process?

Procedure: General Reconstruction
Location: Palm Bay, FL

I think it is impossible to comment intelligently without kn owing more about the details of your reconstruction , body habitus, etc. 800cc. is certainly a large implant. I suggest you return to your reconstructive surgeon.

This does not sound normal and you should notify your plastic surgeon right away for a proper assessment of the problem.

Thanks for your question. One breast suddenly becoming larger and more painful a couple of months after your surgery is definitely not normal. It is hard to say exactly what is going on without examining you. I suggest that you make an appointment to see your plastic surgeon as soon as possible.

Best wishes!

Hello, I would go back to your reconstructive surgeon and let him/her know. An in person assessment is the best way to get to the root of the problem. - Dr. Leong
