Can thread lift be removed?

Hi.

I have recently had facial thread lift and my left side hasn’t worked / been positioned correctly.

I am seeing a doctor on Friday who I have been referred to, but the lady who did the procedure is just telling me that it’s fine and will settle. The right side has settled fine and is just slightly sore. But the left side hasn’t. I can feel the thread cutting into my cheek gum and is swollen

Procedure: Thread Lift
Location: derbyshire, DE - United Kingdom

Depending on the type of thread that was used, and how it was placed, may determine how easy or hard it is to remove. An in person evaluation is the only way to find out.

Depending on which type of threat was used and how the procedure was done, it is often possible to remove the threats. Be sure to discuss this with your surgeon as a possibility. They should be able to tell you if it is possible or not.

Thank you for sharing your excellent question. Depending on the timing since your thread lift, and the product used, it may be possible to remove.

The type of thread will determine if and how it can be removed. If the end is showing or infected , it may have to be removed. A physical examination will be required to make a decision. Please make sure you have the details about the procedure and of the type of thread with you when you have a consultation. Good luck to you

In over 30 years of facelifting, I have removed many threads in the course of a facelift. Sadly, the thread sham is not something new.

It is understandable that you want the thread removed without surgery. You had a sad experience.

I would encourage you to accept the fact that you are best served with a proper facelift which will achieve your goals and at the same time remove the thread in your face.

If the thread has become extruded it may be possible to simply remove it, otherwise you may have to have it surgically removed, possibly through a facelift incision.
