What are my options?

I’m a 27 year old woman who has been fit and active for most of my life, however I’ve always had this stubborn “pooch” of fat on my lower belly. I’ve lost weight, gained weight, and lost weight again, and got very into fitness, but that area never really shedded fat like the rest of my body did. What are my options on minimal liposuction? I don’t want scars!!

Procedure: Liposuction
Location: Olive Branch, MS

Depending on the size of your "pooch" you can try some of the non surgical methods of liposuction such as cryolipolysis (e.g., CoolSculpting), injection lipolysis (e.g., Kybella), radiofrequency lipolysis (e.g., Vanquish) and laser lipolysis (e.g., SculpSure).

I would recommend consulting with an office that has multiple modalities available. If you go to a med spa with limited options they certainly will offer only those even if not optimal. Recommended treatment will vary depending your the amount of fat in the treatment area, skin tone, abdominal wall competency and general health. My preferred options for a single area would be coolsculpting vs laser liposuction

At age 27 you should have good elasticity in your skin, so removing the fat non surgically should be effective. Coolsculpting may be effective for you. I would recommend you seek a consultation in a plastic surgeon's office where they can give you all of your options. Surgical liposuction leaves very minimal scars also. Good luck!

Thank you for sharing your excellent question. Based on your narrative it sounds as if you would be an excellent candidate for some type of noninvasive and scarless procedure such as cool sculpting or liposuction which entails creation of small incisions that are less than a centimeter in length. Hope this helps.

Tried and true.

There is nothing wrong with "traditional" wet technique power assisted liposuction of the lower abdomen. If your skin is in good condition, you can expect good skin contraction. There is no need for running after the latest "whiz-bang" technique that may be full on marketing but weak on scientific proof of superiority.

An in person evaluation is the best way to find out what can be done. Liposuction leaves minimal scars that fade quickly. CoolSculpting leaves no scars and works in selected patients.

Options include 'non-invasive' techniques such as cryotherapy which offer the benefit of no scars and liposuction which would leave you with one or two small incisions which would be hidden below a bikini line. I prefer the liposuction technique because it is immediate and very predictable in experienced hands. There is also another possibility and that is that your lower abdominal muscles/fascia are relatively lax. Only a modified tummy tuck would correct things in that scenario. Best of Luck Dr Harrell

360 Lipo. There really are no other options. Cool sculpting and other non-invasive procedures are ridiculous and more expensive. But why stop with just the pooch? In less than one hour you can have the entire abdomen, flanks and back done and look and feel absolutely spectacular. Stop worrying about tiny scars. They fade rapidly and if not no one will care because you will look so fabulous. You will thank me. I promise. ❤️
