I had GBS 2.5 years ago. Steady weight past 9 months. Daily issues with fully emptying bladder—could be looked at as one of two requirements. Second is “ hangs below the level of pubis”. I’m not sure mentally how to picture that, nor can I come across pictures that would give me an example. Trying to determine if I meet that criteria. I am a man. Lost 210 lbs. BMI 25-ish. 41 years old.
Best thing to do is see a local Board Certified plastic surgeon for an in-person assessment. You may want your primary care doctor to document these problems also.
Based on the amount of weight you have lost, you likely have enough redundant skin to benefit from removal in the form of a tummy tuck/panniculectomy. See your primary to document any infections you may have under the skin flap, then seek a board Certified plastic surgeon for treatment. Best wishes!
It sounds like you are ready ar least for your abdominal surgery. I would always recommend doing an extended abdominoplasty with repair of the diastasis recti. The insurance company who we can help you with get covered will usually paty for a panniculectomy but not an abdominoplasty. So we separate the two for our patients and they pay only the difference. I am President of the American Society of Bariatric Plastic Surgeons and this surgery is my specialty.

Thank you for sharing your excellent question. Due to limitations in seeing pictures through this medium I would advocate seeing a series of surgeons in your area to discuss treatment options including removal of the apron of skin and fat you mention. Hope this helps.
