Pre-Surgery Prep

Is it recommended to take or use on my face any supplements before surgery? Are there recommended products or things to consider on what to use, if so?

Hello and thank you for your question.

Your plastic surgeon should advise you if there are any supplements that you need to take in regards to your procedure. I would recommend speaking with your plastic surgeon directly to answer your question. Best of luck.

In most cases, supplements are not needed before cosmetic surgery but this is best answered by your plastic surgeon who will be doing the surgery.

Hello. Thanks for your question. To optimize surgical outcomes in my patients, I have been using a Rapid Recovery Protocol that utilizes several supplements to improve your preoperative nutrition. Some simple options for you would be vitamin C and a protein shake daily starting a few days before surgery. My experience with this protocol has been uniformly positive. I would recommend that you speak with your plastic surgeon for their viewpoint on this subject as you can see that there are varying opinions.

Good luck,

Dr. Shah
