Hi surgeons!
I m totally confused. The surgeons in Sweden perform only WAL liposuction. They mean that this technique has more advantages than other. I have done some research but I m quite confused. Most board surgeons and clinic perfer ultrasound assisted treatment. Please help me to make right decision.

All liposuction involves the addition of water to assist in the removal of fat. There are multiple additional options, such as ultrasound, laser, plasma, mechanical vibration (Tickle lipo and power assist liposuction) - all of which further ease the fat removal process. That said, liposuction with water alone is very effective, even in the absence of these additional features.
In my opinion the uses of adjunct measures such as laser, ultrasound and water have limited benefits for the typical liposuction patient. The results of liposuction are 99% due to the skill of the surgeon in sculpting the fat thoroughly and artistically. Pre-treating with laser or ultrasound, in my opinion, do little to affect the final result. As for water assisted liposuction, I tried it and found it to be time consuming, cumbersome and expensive. This of course is one surgeon's opinion. However it is based upon my experience with all these modalities. Best of Luck Dr Harrell
