Hi! I've just read the article "Treating Lipedema With Liposuction May Help Women With 'Painful Fat' Disease". Is it the ASPS' official stance that tumescent liposuction is the recommended treatment for lipedema when non-surgical treatments have failed? Would this translate to being the stance held by The American Board of Plastic Surgery/The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canad also?
Liposuction is the preferred method of debunking patients with lipedema. Though there is no official stance, it is the best treatment option.
