To do full body lipo, what are the requirements?

Thank you for your question. Although multiple areas on the body can undergo liposuction at the same time, the total amount of lipoaspirate (fat and tumescent fluid) that can be removed by law in a single surgery is 5 liters. I recommend consulting with one or more board certified plastic surgeons certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery to discuss your options. Best wishes!

I perform a lot of Liposuction. Because there are limitations in the amount of fat that can be removed in one session, I do not recommend performing total body Liposuction in one operation. This likely would have to be staged.

Logistics to do a full body on the table take a lot of time. Positioning, repositioning, preppeing, reprepping , anesthesia time etc. Also the volume needed to inject and remove has to be closely monitored. Fluid management is critical. Body physiology needs to be closely monitored. Too long on the table is also not safe due to blood clots etc.

So, full body is not a good idea. There are patients who may have issues all over the body but are small and very manageable in nature. In such cases it maybe be mostly contouring and fine tuning that is minimal and hence something that can be discussed.

Dear Maria N,

Hello and thank you for your excellent question. With regard to requirements, you need to be fit for surgery, and the surgery needs to be performed in an accredited center by a qualified surgeon. It is best to answer your question during a face-to-face evaluation, when you can discuss your goals and expectations for the procedure, and you can have a physical examination to evaluate for that procedure. I recommend that you find a board-certified, or board-eligible plastic surgeon with whom you are comfortable. Be sure to have all of your questions answered during a face-to-face meeting with your surgeon, and review before and after pictures of similar patients whom have had this procedure. If you have any questions, call our office for assistance. Good luck!

You are asking an excellent question - Whom is a candidate for total body Liposuction?

One starts by visiting a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon whom feels comfortable addressing your concerns.

Total Body Liposuction on a 140 lb individual with multiple areas of concern is different than a 250 pound patient with the goal of having Liposuction substitute for Diet and Exercise.

In the first instance, one can help liposuction multiple areas to smooth out those contours, in the second instance - Bariatric surgery, weight control program, or diet and exercise may be the appropriate first step. In patients whom have lost substantial weight and need multiple areas of liposuction, removing more than 5000 cc is done and the patient requires overnight supervision for fluid shifts. I wrote a paper many years ago on Massive Suctions safely done with over 10,000 cc at a time. Bariatric Surgery has since replaced these operations.

Thanks for your question but I want to clarify important point with you.

If you want liposuction for decreasing weight it is not recommended any more because there is limit for amount of liposuction not exceed5L

BUT if you mean for body sculpture and lipomodelling same sitting as scalpture for tummy and enhancement for the waist lines and smart liopo for thighs with BBL in anatomic 4D lipomodelling

So in.this way it will be qualititative lipo more than quantitative

And will give fantastic result if you have good skin tone...
