How do you know how to find the right doctor? I want a couple things done, but I’m scared because of horror stories I’ve read and heard about.
Look for a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, who are all board certified.
On the web site view find a surgeon and look at their profile on Plastic Surgeon Match.
dr.matarrasso is right I suggest the same.
I agree with my colleagues' responses. ASPS website is a good starting point, because all ASPS members are board certified. It is always advisable to have a consultation with at least two surgeons. It is important to ask about their level of experience in performing the procedures you are interested in, as well as what type of operating facility they use. Most surgeons' websites will have this information, as well as their Before and After photos.
Thank you for this question. I agree with all my colleagues here
A couple of tips
1.) do not go outside the country especially to places like Mexico and the Dominican republic, they don’t have the same safety standards as the United States
2.) choose a surgeon that is board certified by the American Board of plastic surgery. Surgeons you find using the surgeon finder on this website ensures that they have met this standard
3.) choose a surgeon who you feel comfortable with. Even though someone is board certified, you may not mesh well with that person. This should be a partnership between you and your surgeon

The best thing to do is first find a plastic surgeon in your area that is board certified and a member of ASPS or ASAPS abundant then ask around about their work. Best of luck
If you know people who have had surgery, talk to them about it, and their surgeon. Make sure your surgeon is a board certified plastic surgeon, and not board certified in something else doing cosmetic surgery,
Although board certification means a surgeon has the knowledge and training, it does not necessarily mean he/she is a good surgeon with good results.
Ask your OB/GYN who they recommend. Look up surgeons in your area on-line. After you get a few names, google each and look at reviews, and go to Realself.com and look at your surgeons reviews. Narrow it down to 2 or 3, then go meet with each.
Finding the right surgeon can be daunting because of marketing and other issues. Choosing a Board Certified surgeon is reassuring in that we all have shared values that we are supposed to practice by. Beyond being board certified, now you want to know what others have experienced, the on-line reputation, and if your surgeon will be there for you afterwards. You will be surprised how many patients have a difficult time getting to see their surgeon AFTER the procedure has been done and it should not be like that. Also know what your surgeon's revision policy is (if they don't have one, don't go there) as they are always possible and if needed, you don't want to be on the hook for a lot of costs.
Thank you for your question and doing your homework with ASPS member surgeons! The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) has a "Find a Surgeon" feature on the website that can facilitate finding a properly qualified and trained board-certified plastic surgeon in your area. Finding the right match is important, so look for a surgeon who will partner with you to develop a treatment plan that is best suited to your individual features, goals, budget, and recovery timeline. Best wishes on a great result and speedy recovery!
The first thing is make sure that your plastic surgeon is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. That will assure you that he has had the full training required to do your surgery. THere are many different boards so be quite specific on your search. Second make sure that he/she has privileges to do your surgery in a major hospital.

Mommy Makeover surgery when performed right is a life changing event for most Women. As such, like everyone else has mentioned, you are definitely encouraged to do as much research as you can. In our experience, Mommy Makeover procedures are perfected through the use of the HD Liposuction Body Scale and VASER Liposuction. A Skype or Facetime consultation with a VASER specialist is recommended to answer any additional questions you may have. Good Luck!
Look for a surgeon whose training and experience qualifies him-her to perform the surgery you’re looking for. Review physician websites, checking out the photo gallery. Take your top 2-3 choices and have a consultation with each of these doctors. Best of luck
Hello and thank you for your excellent question. It is best to answer your question during a face-to-face evaluation, when you can discuss your goals and expectations for the procedure, and you can have a physical examination to evaluate for that procedure. I recommend that you review the web for board-certified, or board-eligible plastic surgeons in your area, and review their websites, photos, and reviews. Pick your favorite two or three, and have a face to face consult. When this is done, pick your favorite.Good luck!
