SBH Health System, a 400 + bed Acute Care Hospital in the Bronx, NY and academic health System affiliated with the CUNY School of Medicine and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine supporting 3 FQHC primary care centers / 3 faculty practice sites and an On-campus Ambulatory Care Center. Level 2 Trauma Center authorized to treat the most critically ill and severely injured patients. New York State- designated Stroke Center and State designated Aids Center.

SBH Health System/St. Barnabas Medical Center in the Bronx, New York is accepting applications for a full-time PLASTIC, RECONSTRUCTIVE AND HAND SURGEON.

The surgeon will ensure that quality care and appropriate treatment are delivered to all patients, initiate changes as needed to improve quality of care and providing management of patients assigned to the service.  He/She will perform monitoring plastic and hand surgical performance improvement and the patient safety process. He/She will provide plastic and hand surgical care and participate in the call schedule.  He/She will participate in the review of hospital policies for conformity with standards set forth by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma and other agencies.  He/She will participate in the quality assurance process through and Peer Review. He/She will participate as core faculty member in the education of the fellowship programs in addition to educating and supervising residents, physician assistants, students and others.

 The ideal candidate will possess a current New York State License, will have a Valid DEA Registration and current ATLS certification.The ideal candidate will be a Graduate of an accredited Medical or Osteopathic School Required, BC/BE in plastic & reconstructive surgery with either significant hand surgery experience or preferably with fellowship training and certification in hand surgery.   

The ideal candidate will also have relevant clinical experience in trauma care which is preferred.The successful candidates will be eligible for loan forgiveness as part of National Health Service Corp Program.
