Microsurgery Breast and Aesthetic FellowshipPosted: 9/3/2024

Baltimore, MD
Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the Weinberg Center for Women's Health and Medicine at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore is currently accepting applications for its Microsurgical Breast and Aesthetic Fellowship to start on 7/1/25.

As a pioneer of advanced surgical treatment options for breast reconstruction surgery, Dr. Bernard Chang became the first Director of the Breast Reconstruction and Restoration Center at Mercy Medical Center in 1995.  As such, he has recruited an outstanding group of surgeons in Drs. Brendan Collins, Lauren Nigro, and Craig Vander Kolk to make this team known as one of the mid-Atlantic's best in breast reconstruction and restoration.  Dr. Chang established the Microsurgery Breast and Aesthetic Fellowship in 1999 which has trained over 30 breast reconstructive surgeons.

This is a one-year non-ACGME Fellowship program with a heavy emphasis on breast reconstruction with a focus on delayed and immediate DIEP, SIEA, TRAM, and SGAP flaps, as well as implant reconstruction.  By performing nearly 200 free flap procedures/year, the Fellow will gain extensive additional training in microsurgical techniques as well as aesthetic breast surgery.

All applicants must have successfully completed an ACGME accredited Residency in Plastic Surgery.

Benefits include a stipend, medical and dental insurance, and a $2500 CME allotment.
