Division Chief and Associate / Full Professor
The Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic Surgery at
the University of Florida, College of Medicine is seeking a candidate to serve
as Division Chief and Associate, or Full Professor on a non-tenure or
tenure-accruing track, dependent on qualifications. The new hire will join a group of
plastic surgeons with a reputation of excellence in patient care working within
a highly functional academic medical center with excellent support and lead
the Division’s growth in plastic surgery.
Responsibilities will include education and training of medical
students, residents and fellows in Plastic Surgery. The Division has a long-standing commitment
to both Resident and Fellow education and the new chief will be actively involved
in the integrated and independent residencies. This position will be expected
to demonstrate a commitment to the development of an academic careers through
research, teaching, and clinical practice.
Clinical expertise in microsurgery, craniofacial surgery or breast reconstruction
will compliment the division’s expertise and are desirable.
The Division of Plastic Surgery has been active at the
University of Florida since 1963, and boasts a robust practice, which covers
the breadth of plastic surgery. The Department of Surgery at the University of Florida is a top 20 NIH funded department with a strong commitment to undergraduate and post graduate education.
The successful candidate for this position requires a MD degree or
equivalent and board certification in plastic surgery, with a demonstrated
commitment to the development of an academic career through research, teaching,
and clinical practice. Salary range and
academic rank is negotiable based on education and experience.
