The Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at The
Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seeks a
full-time, Board Certified/Eligible Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon. Academic rank and track commensurate with
academic record and experience.
Position Overview
The Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
seeks to hire a board certified/eligible plastic surgeon to lead our already
robust body contouring program. Qualified
candidates for this position should have a love of general plastic surgery, have
experience and/or fellowship training in body contouring, and a sincere
commitment to growing a successful program in an academic environment.
Ohio State’s Body Contouring program is comprehensive with
dedicated advanced practitioners and significant collaboration with Ohio State
and Columbus community minimally invasive surgeons. The program is robust and needs a leader to
take it to the next level.
Department/Division
Overview
The Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery has 20
full-time faculty, 5 faculty at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and 10 community
faculty who are committed to the tripartite mission of clinical excellence,
research and education. Our residency program
consists of both integrated and independent pathways. We have 26 residents and 4 fellows
(microsurgery, nerve and pediatric fellowships). We are a referral center for central Ohio,
West Virginia and Kentucky and provide comprehensive Plastic Surgery care at
the Wexner Medical Center including University Hospital, East Hospital, The James
Comprehensive Cancer Center and the multiple free-standing ambulatory sites of
The Ohio State University.
Duties and Responsibilities
-To provide safe, high quality patient care
-To provide clinical and didactic education to learners of
all levels
-To adhere to all other duties and guideline of the
Department and The Chair as assigned.
Requirements
-MD or DO
-Successful
completion of an accredited Plastic Surgery Residency Program
-Board Certified or
Board Eligible in Plastic Surgery
-Experience and/or a
Fellowship in Body Contouring Surgery
-Eligible for an
Ohio Medical License

Clinical
faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with titles of assistant
professor-clinical, associate professor-clinical and professor-clinical. These
faculty will have earned a doctor of medicine (MD), doctorate (PhD)
or other terminal degree in the relevant field. Clinical faculty members
are not eligible for tenure and are appointed for terms of three to five
years. They may be reappointed to successive terms. Their principal
career focus is the delivery of exemplary clinical care, and may include
teaching, and/or research.
Tenure-Track
faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with the titles of assistant
professor, associate professor, or professor who are eligible for tenure
or who have obtained tenure. These faculty will have earned a
doctorate (PhD), Doctor of Medicine (MD) or other terminal degree in the
relevant field of study. Their primary career focus centers on research,
service, and teaching. Tenure-track faculty with MD or MD/PhD degrees may
also be involved in clinical care.
Research
Faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with the titles of research
assistant professor, research associate professor, or research professor.
These faculty will have earned a doctorate (PhD) or other terminal degree
in the relevant field of study. Research faculty members are not
eligible for tenure and are appointed for terms of one to five years.
Their principal career focus is research.
