The
University of Utah Division of Plastic Surgery is offering a twelve-month
Gender Affirming Fellowship beginning August 1, 2025.
This
is a comprehensive clinical and academic experience to gain expertise in all
aspects of gender affirming surgery. The fellow will become proficient in
facial feminization procedures, masculinizing and feminizing chest surgeries,
and masculinizing and feminizing genital surgeries (phalloplasty,
metoidioplasty, vaginoplasty, vulvoplasty). The University of Utah has a
well-established multidisciplinary transgender health group team, which
the fellow will be an active participant in, and be involved in clinics and
joint conferences with plastic surgery, urology, endocrinology, voice therapy,
and physical therapy.
Throughout
the year, the fellow will participate in transgender health research, with the
goal of presenting and publishing a peer reviewed research project.
The
fellow will have administrative responsibilities organizing a gender affirming
surgery journal club, and teaching residents and medical students.
The
fellow will obtain an appointment as Clinical Instructor in the Division of
Plastic Surgery, and will perform general plastic surgery procedures
independently to maintain clinical skills in plastic surgery.
The
fellow will receive a stipend, based on PGY level, and benefits

must have completed a ACGME accredited plastic surgery residency and be
eligible for a Utah Medical License.
