Academic Plastic Surgery Microsurgeon, Worcester, MA

UMass Memorial Medical Group seeks a board-certified/board-eligible Plastic Surgeon to join our esteemed Plastic Surgery Division at UMass Memorial Health. We welcome and support physician caregivers from all Academic Ranks to apply and join us in our relentless pursuit of healing.

About our Division:

The UMass Division of Plastic Surgery is dedicated to providing comprehensive care across its three campuses, including a Level I Trauma Center and UMass Children’s Medical Center. It is home to an ACGME-accredited six-year integrated plastic surgery residency program. We are looking to add a fellowship-trained microsurgeon to join our team of seven full-time plastic surgeons covering the full spectrum of the field.

This role will focus on reconstructive microsurgery including breast reconstruction, upper and lower extremity reconstruction including targeted muscle reinnervation and general reconstruction. Additional opportunities include gender affirmation surgery, body contouring, and aesthetic surgery. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team of surgeons, physicians, and other healthcare professionals dedicated to delivering excellent patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform reconstructive and cosmetic surgical procedures, focusing on microsurgery.
  • Manage patient care from preoperative assessment through postoperative follow-up.
  • Engage in breast, upper and lower extremity, and general reconstruction cases.
  • Contribute to innovative procedures, including targeted muscle reinnervation.
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Participate in educational activities with residents in the integrated plastic surgery program.


Requirements:
  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Plastic Surgery
  • Active Massachusetts medical license or eligibility to obtain.
  • Fellowship training in Microsurgery is required
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to patient-centered care.
  • Interest in academic medicine, including teaching and research, is highly desirable.
