Outstanding Opportunity for Plastic Surgeon with Prestigious Children’s Hospital in South Florida 

Nicklaus Children's Hospital, a 307-bed freestanding children's hospital and ACS-verified Level I trauma center, and Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the physician-led multispecialty group practice of Nicklaus Children's Health System, are seeking an exceptional BE/BC pediatric plastic surgeon to join the Section of Plastic Surgery. 

Join a thriving and expanding group providing outpatient consultations in an ambulatory center located near Fort Lauderdale in Florida’s Broward County. This role has dynamic hours and will provide comprehensive outpatient consultations, with procedure time and inpatient consultative services at the hospital’s main campus in Miami. Candidates should possess a passion for advocacy and improving care for all children, which includes delivering on Nicklaus Children’s brand promise of a care environment where every child matters most.

Located just north of Miami and south of Palm Beach, Florida’s Broward County has easy access to two international airports and boasts abundant sunshine and warm weather year-round, with attractions from the shore to the suburbs. Applicants must have training experience in the field of pediatric plastic surgery. The division currently has robust programs in craniofacial and pediatric hand/extremity care. We are now recruiting a surgeon to provide outstanding clinical care for general pediatric plastic surgery, including but not limited to vascular anomalies, breast conditions, congenital nevi, pediatric wound care, burn reconstruction and other similar conditions. Microsurgery experience is preferred.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) from an accredited medical school 
  • Current state medical license and in good standing with medical board
  • American Heart Association BLS - maintain active and in good standing throughout employment

  • Exceptional clinical, research and teaching skills and have a commitment to academic pediatrics.
  • Able to relate cooperatively and constructively with patients, families and co-workers.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt, and react calmly under stressful conditions.
  • Ability to problem solve to formulate a plan of care and evaluate the patient's response to care.
