Boston Medical Center and Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine are jointly recruiting a board-certified/board-eligible plastic surgeon to join the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in microsurgery and interest in microsurgical breast reconstruction, lower extremity reconstruction, and reconstruction of complex defects. In addition to providing expert patient care using the latest treatments and technologies, the division places a high priority on the training and development of general surgery residents, the education of medical students, and on improving care through research. The successful candidate will have strong clinical credentials, a collaborative approach to patient care, and a commitment to teaching. They will be an additional faculty member to the current four surgeons and five advanced practice clinicians.

Boston University conducts a background check on all final candidates for certain faculty and staff positions. The background check includes contacting the final candidate’s current and previous employer(s) to ask whether, in the last seven years, there has been a substantiated finding of misconduct violating that employer’s applicable sexual misconduct policies. To implement this process, the university requires a final candidate to complete and sign the form entitled “Authorization to Release Information” after execution of an offer letter.

Candidates should forward a letter of interest and CV to Maureen Demmert via email: Maureen.Demmert@bmc.org. Please include Plastic Surgeon in the subject line.
