The
Department of Surgery at VCU Health is seeking an energetic and dynamic
individual who is Board Certified/Board Eligible in Plastic Surgery to head the
Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at VCU Medical Center and
affiliated campuses. This person will be responsible for setting the vision, transforming
the practice, and developing research and education. The VCU Division of Plastic
& Reconstructive Surgery has an integrated plastic surgery residency and active
programs in microsurgery, general reconstruction, comprehensive burn care, hand
surgery, pediatric craniofacial surgery, and cosmetic surgery. This division is
staffed by 10 surgeons and 19 advanced practice providers dedicated to
providing the highest quality healthcare services. It is also home to the
Evans-Haynes Burn Center, the oldest civilian burn center in the country.
Verified as the only Level 1 adult and pediatric burn center in the region, the
Evans-Haynes Burn Center provides interdisciplinary and holistic care for acute
burns and the reconstructive needs of burn survivors. Additionally, the
division supports the Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center to provide oncoplastic
care.
The
applicant must provide evidence of board certification or board eligibility in
Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and have a commitment to research and
education, as well as clinical practice. Responsibilities also include
supervising residents and working at the medical campus and satellite offices within
the region. Demonstrated experience working in and
fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do
so as a faculty member at VCU is required. Faculty rank and salary commensurate
with experience.
