Academic Plastic and Reconstructive SurgeonPosted: 7/23/2025

El Paso, TX

The Department of Surgery at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso is recruiting for two additional board certified/board eligible plastic surgeons to join our growing Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Texas Tech is a tertiary referral center for west Texas, southern New Mexico, and northern Chihuahua, Mexico, and is soon to be home to the Fox Comprehensive Cancer Center and University Medical Center Burn Center. Areas of current and anticipated growth within the division include cancer reconstruction, maxillofacial trauma, burn reconstruction, and complex abdominal wall repair. Fellowship training in microsurgery preferred, though other fellowship or equivalent experience will be considered.  Responsibilities would include a share of general plastic surgery call, with additional opportunities for hand and face call available.  Our department works closely with residents from general surgery, orthopedic surgery, and oral and maxillofacial surgery.  Successful candidates would have a strong interest in resident and medical student teaching, research, and clinical innovation and program development.

Located at the western tip of Texas, El Paso is the 22nd largest city in the US, with a population just under 700,000 and a metropolitan area a little over 2 million.  It was recently ranked #2 on the US News & World Report list of 25 Best Big Cities to Live in the U.S. in 2025-2026 and has consistently been ranked one of the top ten safest large cities in the U.S.  With low cost of living, great public and private schools, around 300 sunny days a year, and close access to world class rock climbing, mountain biking, and skiing, El Paso is a great place to live, work, and raise a family. The huge catchment area and established referral base both inside and outside the Texas Tech system provide vast opportunities to build a varied and thriving practice.

Qualified applicants must have or be eligible for a full unrestricted Texas medical license. Academic title and salary will be commensurate with experience.  Please apply online at http://careers.texastech.edu (Job Requisition #40659BR) and forward their curriculum vitae to:
