The Department of Surgery at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center is seeking a well qualified individual to join our UNM Division of Plastic Surgery. The ideal applicant is a mid-career Plastic surgeon who will offer the entire spectrum of Breast Cancer Reconstruction. In addition to being full time within the Division of Plastic Surgery, the selected candidate will also work closely with the UNM Division of Surgical Oncology and Breast Cancer Surgical Specialists at the University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center (UNMCCC), the only National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated Cancer Center within a 500-mile radius. The Division of Plastic Surgery has specialists offering a broad scope of clinical practice, and are actively engaged in graduate medical education through an integrated Plastic surgery residency program. We graduate two residents per year, and have an excellent track record on all ACGME metrics. The dedicated breast reconstructive rotation is a highly desired, mandatory rotation and a great learning environment for residents and medical students alike.

Minimum Requirements for this position are as follows:

· Medical Doctor or equivalent

· Board-certified/Board-eligible in Plastic Surgery

· Eligible for medical licensure in New Mexico

· Eligible for State of New Mexico Board

· Eligible for New Mexico Pharmacy certification and federal DEA registration

· Must be eligible to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications are as follows:

· Interest and proficiency in Microsurgical Reconstruction

· Interest in developing a program to offer New Mexicans minimally invasive surgical techniques, including Robotic Surgery for Plastic surgery procedures.

· A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities
