Introduction to Medical Marijuana presents health care professionals with the many uses of medical marijuana, the benefits as well as the health risks of long and short-term use of marijuana. This course also describes the many legal considerations doctors must be aware of before prescribing medical marijuana to their patients.

Learning Objectives
After viewing this course, the participant should be able to:
  1. Discuss recent trends in the attitudes towards the legalization of medical marijuana.
  2. Explain the safety and legal concerns with medical marijuana.
  3. Differentiate between cannabis and cannabinoids.
  4. Discuss the short-term and long-term health risks with the use of marijuana.
  5. Describe the benefits of medical marijuana and the ability it has to produce intended results.
  6. List the factors doctors should consider before prescribing medical marijuana.
