Module 4: Aesthetic Surgery for Men: Hair Restoration focuses on adding hair restoration to your practice. This course discusses the main causes of hair loss and the two most common surgical procedures used to treat hair loss, including tips on how to implement hair restoration services in your practice. Take a closer look, step-by-step, at a Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) and Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE). The content in this course was provided by Alfonso Barrera, MD; Jack Fisher, MD; and Brian V. Heil MD. Course Reviewed by Keith Jeffords, MD, DDS.

Learning Objectives

After viewing this course, the participant should be able to:

  1. Recall the basic foundations of hair restoration including the importance of hair restoration significant events in the history of hair restoration, and key characteristics of hair.
  2. Identify common causes of hair loss and compare stages of male pattern baldness.
  3. Compare hair restoration surgical procedures by identifying key steps of both FUT and FUE procedures.
  4. Discuss key characteristics of a natural looking end product.
  5. Prepare your practice for the implementation of hair restoration services.
