ASPS University: Abdominal Wall Reconstruction is a multi-session, webinar- based course, endorsed by the American Hernia Society. Each session will feature an expert panel discussion and focus on a different topic related to abdominal wall reconstruction. Dr. Jeffrey Janis will host and moderate.

Learning Objectives

After viewing this course, the participant should be able to:
  1. Develop familiarity with different methods and techniques of AWR.
  2. Describe prehabilitation protocols and their evidence
  3. Create a surgical plan
  4. Perform advanced component separation and mesh inset techniques.
  5. Recognize properly selected techniques to reconstruct various abdominal wall defects
  6. Describe post-operative management of the complex AWR patient
  7. Manage potential complications in complex AWR
